What is largest bovid?

The largest bovid, and in fact the largest land mammal in the world, is the African elephant. However, if we are looking specifically at the bovid family, which includes antelopes, sheep, goats, and buffalo, among others, the largest bovid is the wild water buffalo (Bubalus arnee) native to Southeast Asia. Adult males can weigh up to 1,200 kg (2,600 lbs) and stand over 1.8m (6ft) tall at the shoulder. Historically, the domesticated water buffalo has also been widely used as a working animal in Asia.
